Ram Mandir Inauguration: IMD Predicts Cold Weather Conditions On Consecration Day In Ayodhya

IMD has predicted that January 22 will be a 'cold day' for Ayodhya and nearby areas with an expected maximum temperature ranging from 15 to 17 degrees Celsius.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that cold weather conditions are likely to prevail during the day in Ayodhya and nearby areas on January 22. The region experienced misty weather on Monday morning, and according to the Met office, the shallow fog limited visibility to 1,000 metres until 9 a.m., reported news agency PTI.

In addition to prediciting Monday as 'cold day,' the weather department said that the maximum temperature is expected to settle around 15 to 17 degrees Celsisus.

IMD had earlier launched a dedicated webpage on Thursday to provide weather information for Ayodhya and its surrounding regions specifically. The webpage consists of all weather-related information, such as temperature, humidity, wind patterns, and precipitation, in major languages spoken across the globe, including English, Hindi, Chinese, French, Spanish, Urdu, and Spanish, as per PTI.

Apart from Ayodhya, the IMD webpage has weather information for Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, and New Delhi, among other significant places. A weather bulletin with a seven-day forecast, along with sunrise and sunset timings, is also available in English and Hindi on the webpage.

According to IMD, fog is catergorised into four categories on the basis of visibility. 'Very dense fog' is when the visibility is between 0 and 50 metres, 'dense' fog is between 51 and 200 metres, 'moderate' is between 201 and 500 metres, and 'shallow' fog is when the visibility is between 501 and 1000 metres.

The weather department categorises a day as 'cold day' when the minimum temperature is less than or equal to 10 degrees Celsius below normal and the maximum temperature is at least 4.5 degrees below the normal temperature.

A 'severe cold day' is when the maximum temperature of the day is 6.5 degrees Celcius or more, below normal temperature.

The Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony began at 12:20 pm and was followed by a public address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as devotees around the world rejoiced the inauguration.
