Ram Lalla Statue To Rest On This Grand Gold-Plated Throne Inside Ram Temple, Details Inside

The statue of Ram Lalla will be placed on a marble throne embellished with gold plating which is being made by Rajasthan artisans and will reach the Ram Temple by December 15.

The statue of Ram Lalla is set to be placed on a grand throne inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, said a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The throne is being made by artisans in Rajasthan and will reach Ayodhya by December 15, he said on Tuesday, according to a PTI report.

The Ram Lalla statue will rest on the throne which would be eight feet tall, three feet long and four feet wide. The throne, which will be made of marble, will be embellished with gold plating, said Anil Mishra, a member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The construction of the sanctum sanctorum, where the throne will be placed, has also been completed, said Mishra.

The Ram Temple’s ground floor has to be prepared by December 15 while 80 per cent of the work on the first floor has been completed, he added.

On the first floor, as many as 17 pillars have been installed while only two more remain to be erected and the roof of the first floor is expected to be built by December 15, Mishra said. The flooring work of the Parikrama Marg has also been completed and the work of laying marble on the floor of the Griha Mandap is going on, he added.

The construction of roofs of all three floors of the passenger convenience centre have been done, Mishra said, adding that the construction work of the entrance gate of Ram Mandir's outer wall ('parkota') is in the final stage and will be completed by the end of November.

Devotees have donated a large amount of gold and silver items which will be melted since it would be difficult to store them. The melting process will be done under the guidance of a reputed organisation, Mishra said.

The consecration ceremony of the temple will be held in January 2024 where the idol of Lord Ram will be placed inside the temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony scheduled to take place on January 22.
