UP: Two Accused Get Death Sentence For Minor Girl's Kidnap, Rape In Pratapgarh
The accused Haleem and Rizwan, residents of Parsai village of Nawabganj Kotwali area, have been sentenced to death and fined ₹ 50 thousand by the court.
New Delhi; Two accused convicted in the brutal rape, kidnapping and murder case of a minor have been sentenced to death by the court in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh, the prosecution said as reported by news agency PTI. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Pankaj Kumar Srivastava has given its verdict on being found guilty under various sections including the POCSO Act. The accused Haleem and Rizwan, residents of the Parsai village of Nawabganj Kotwali area, have been sentenced to death and fined ₹ 50 thousand by the court.
The incident occurred on 27 December 2021 when the accused brutally hit the minor girl on her head, broking the head bone and stabbing her in the eye causing blindness and leaving her in an unconscious state, the brother had alleged in the FIR.
In this case, on December 30, 2021, an FIR was registered at the Nawabganj police station on the complaint of the victim's brother.

She was brought to the Community Health Center, Kalakankar from where doctors referred her to SRN Medical College hospital in view of her critical condition.
Following five days, the victim came to her senses and named three accused - Aman alias Qasim, Rizwan and Haleem, Singh said, adding that police registered a case against the charged under relevant sections and introduced the charge sheet in the court.
As Aman was found to be a minor, his case alluded to a juvenile court, the prosecuting officer said.
The court, subsequent to hearing the arguments of the advocates of both sides, convicted the two accused on the basis of evidence and sentenced Haleem alias Kharbar and Rizwan to death.
Additional District Government Counsels Rajesh Tripathi and Nirbhay Singh argued on behalf of the prosecution, the officer added.
