Revanth Reddy Expresses 'Unconditional Regret' After SC Pulls Up Telangana CM For Remark On Kavitha Bail Order

On remarks over SC bail to K Kavitha, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy "unconditionally" expressed his regret for the statements reflected in the press reports.

A day after Supreme Court on Thursday took a strong exception on statements made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the bail granted to BRS leader K Kavitha, the CM expressed regret over his statements against Apex Court order. Further, the CM said that the remarks attributed in the reports have been taken out of context.

Taking to X, Revanth Reddy on Friday said, "I have the highest regard and full faith in the Indian Judiciary. I understand that certain press reports dated 29th August, 2024 containing comments attributed to me have given the impression that I am questioning the judicial wisdom of the Hon’ble Court."
 
"I reiterate that I am a firm believer of the judicial process.I unconditionally express my regret for the statements reflected in the press reports. The remarks attributed to me in such reports have been taken out of context. I have unconditional respect & highest regard for the Judiciary & its independence," he said.

Further, the CM said, "As a firm believer in the Constitution of India and its ethos, I have and continue to hold the Judiciary in its highest esteem."

Voicing strong displeasure over CM Reddy's comments on the apex court granting bail to Kavitha in cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, an ostensibly provoked Supreme Court asked as per PTI on Thursday, "Do we pass orders after consultations with political parties?".
