A doctor informed that at around 1 am, 29 patients were brought to the village hospital with symptoms of vomiting and discomfort. He stated that the patients were receiving treatment and were in stable condition, while others had been taken to different hospitals.

Tamil Nadu: 40 Children Among 100 People Fall Ill After Consuming Biryani At DMK Event
Hospital sources confirmed that the food was stale, causing food poisoning. Whereas, Thirumangalam Police have launched a probe.
Over 100 people including 40 children fell sick after eating biryani at an event of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu on Friday. The incident took place during a general meeting where the distribution of welfare items to the public was done by party members. During the event, Biryani was served to attendees, and some of them took it home to share with their families.
According to India Today, after the increase of affected individuals, 10 ambulances were called in to transport patients to healthcare centers in Virudhunagar and Kallikudi, where their treatment is still in process.
However, hospital sources confirmed that the food was stale, causing food poisoning. Thirumangalam Police have started an investigation, with further inquiries ongoing.

50 Hospitalised With Food Poisoning Symptoms At UP Village
A similar incident came to light on August 25 in Uttar Pradesh where around 50 people, including children, were hospitalised for suspected food poisoning in a Mathura village after they consumed fritters made from buckwheat flour during Janmashtami celebrations. The people fall ill on the intervening night between Monday and Tuesday.
As per the report of PTI report, a patient named Parkham Singh, a resident of Parkham village, said people felt dizzy after consuming the fritters and started vomiting and shivering. He also added that the ‘kuttu ka atta (buckwheat flour)' was bought from a local shop in the village. "Around 50 people from my village have fallen ill," he also added.
A teenager admitted to hospital, said, "We had fritters made of buckwheat flour last night. After that, I started vomiting and felt a burning sensation in the stomach."
