A Positive Change Awaits Punjab’s Schools: Welcome to the School of Happiness

Punjab's Bhagwant Maan government is initiating the School of Happiness, to emphasise creativity, interactive learning, mental health support, and a stress-free environment for children.

Education is the foundation on which we build the future, and in Punjab, that foundation is about to undergo a joyous transformation. The Maan government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is set to revolutionize the way children learn, grow, and thrive in schools. With a promise to turn the vibrant vision of "Rangla Punjab" into reality, the government is putting in the hard work to ensure every child in Punjab experiences not just education, but happiness, values, and empathy in their learning journey.

And the key to this revolution is the innovative and exciting School of Happiness.

What is the School of Happiness?

Imagine a school where children walk in each morning with smiles, not backpacks. A place where they learn not just lessons from textbooks, but life lessons that help them grow into compassionate, thoughtful individuals. The School of Happiness is designed to make this a reality. It’s not just a school—it’s an experience. An experience that’s stress-free, creative, and filled with opportunities for every child to bloom.

Set to launch its first school in the peaceful village of Lakhair, near Shri Anandpur Sahib, this concept is more than just a new initiative. It’s a heartwarming step towards ensuring that every child’s educational experience is positive, engaging, and full of life.

A School Like No Other

What makes this initiative truly stand out? Let’s paint you a picture. In the School of Happiness:

- Classrooms come alive with colors, interactive panels, and engaging activities. No more dull blackboards or monotonous lectures—children here learn through stories, activities, and lively discussions.

- There’s a computer lab, not just for tech-savvy kids but for every child to explore the digital world at their own pace.

- The fields will be buzzing with children playing badminton, cricket, and football, learning teamwork, resilience, and the joy of physical activity.

- And there’s more! These schools will provide mental health check-ups, acknowledging the importance of emotional well-being from a young age.

But the real beauty of the School of Happiness is in the little things—the things that make it special. Saturdays will be bag-free days, replacing the pressure of books with the magic of stories, creative exercises, and games that stimulate not just the mind but the heart.

A Wholesome Environment for Every Child

These schools aim to break away from the usual routine and give children something that’s often missing in education—joy. Joy in learning, joy in expressing themselves, and joy in discovering the world around them.

Building the Future, One Happy Child at a Time

The numbers speak for themselves. The Maan government has allocated ₹10 crore in the current fiscal year to launch at least 132 Schools of Happiness across the state. Of these, 10 schools will cater to urban areas, while 122 schools will ensure that rural children get the same opportunity to thrive in a joyful learning environment.

This isn’t just about academics—it’s about nurturing the whole child. Through this initiative, the government is prioritizing every aspect of a child’s development—intellectual, physical, emotional, and creative.

A New Vision for Education

The School of Happiness isn’t just a dream. It’s a promise to every parent in Punjab that their child will grow up in an environment where learning is more than just memorizing facts—it’s about discovering the joy of learning, understanding values, and developing into kind, responsible individuals.

With this initiative, Punjab is embarking on a new journey—one that places the happiness and well-being of its children at the forefront. The government is laying the groundwork for a future where schools are not just places of education but sanctuaries of growth, creativity, and joy.

The Promise of Punjab’s Future

The Schools of Happiness will be the foundation on which Punjab builds its next generation of leaders, thinkers, and doers—children who are not just smart but happy, compassionate, and ready to change the world.
