Punjab Election 2022: Free Education To Children Of Poor, Downtrodden If Voted To Power, Says Arvind Kejriwal
On his visit, Kejriwal also guaranteed education for the children of Dalit.
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal promised that he will provide free of cost education to the children of poor and downtrodden if voted to power in Punjab. "It is only through good education that equality can be brought in society and the right to equality as enshrined in the Constitution can be ensured in the true sense," the AAP chief said.
Assembly polls in Punjab are scheduled to take place this year.
Kejriwal also paid obeisance at the Ram Tirath Temple which was the ashram of Maharishi Valmiki and also birthplace of Lord Ram’s son Luv and Kush. He was honoured by the Sant Samaj on his visit to the temple.
On his visit, Kejriwal also guaranteed education for the children of Dalit. "I guarantee the education of all Dalit children to fulfil the dreams of Maharishi Valmiki and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Equality can be brought in the society only by giving good education to children of the poor and the downtrodden," he said.
"Both Maharishi Valmiki and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar gave utmost importance to education. Babasaheb Ambedkar's dream was that every child of India, whether he is poor or rich, should get good education," Kejriwal said during his address to the media.
He said that it was very unfortunate that children of Dalit and poor were not getting good education due to bad condition of government schools. He added that every party promised to make education facilities for children of Dalits better but did not take any step for its implementation.
