Maharashtra: CMO Finds Letters, Memorandums With 'Fake' Signs, Stamps Of CM Shinde, Complaint Filed
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office filed a complaint with Marine Drive police station for the alleged use of 'fake' stamps and signs of CM on various applications.
The office of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has filed a police complaint after discovering that some memorandums submitted for further action to his office contained forged signatures and stamps of the CM, news agency ANI reported citing Mumbai Police.
According to ANI, the Marine Drive Police have registered a case against an unknown person under IPC 420, 465,468,471, and 473 in response to a complaint from the Maharashtra CM office's desk officer about the forgery of CM Eknath Shinde's signature and the use of a forged stamp.
Employees in the Maharashtra CMO found that some of the memorandums and letters had CM’s fake signatures and stamps, after employees brought it to the notice of senior officials, and filed a complaint at Marine Drive police station.

The CMO in an X post said, "It has been pointed out that some of the statements received for action by the Chief Minister's Secretariat have fake signatures and stamps of the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and a complaint has been lodged in this regard at the Marine Lines Police Station."
"Statements and letters with comments signed by the Chief Minister are received from all over the Chief Minister's Secretariat for further action. These statements are recorded in the post office and are recorded in the e-office system and sent to the concerned administrative departments."
"The staff pointed out that the Chief Minister's signature and seals on ten to twelve statements received by the Chief Minister's Secretariat were suspicious and fake. He brought this matter to the notice of the seniors. The Chief Minister has taken a serious note of this and directed to file a complaint with the police immediately," the post read.
The post further said that the Chief Minister has instructed the officials to work more vigilantly.
