Six Killed, One Injured As SUV Collides With Truck Near Madhya Pradesh's Sagar City

At least six persons were killed and another was injured when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a truck near Sagar city in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening, news agency PTI reported citing police officials. According to Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Ashoka Chourasia, the incident happened near Bamori Doodar on the Sagar-Jabalpur Road, within the Sanodha police station limits, about 20 kilometres from the district headquarters, the report said.

The official stated that six of the seven people in the SUV were killed on the spot, while another is being treated at a hospital, it said. 

The identities of the deceased are being determined, according to the police officer, the report added.

Earlier on Tuesday, a tractor-trailer collided with a passenger bus late Monday night, killing two people and injuring more than 30 others. 

"The accident happened around 10.30 PM on the Bhind-Gwalior road near Tukeda village. The tractor trolly had come to a halt on a road. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the tractor-trolly," a Malanpur police station official was quoted as saying by PTI. 

According to PTI, the residents of Gohad's Pipadiya village had gone to visit the Basaya Mata temple in the Morena district, and the mishap occurred on their way back.

On June 8, a speeding truck struck a jeep and a two-wheeler in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, killing seven people and injuring two others, PTI reported citing a police official. 

According to Sidhi Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Ravindra Verma, the accident happened around 10 a.m. near village Dol after the truck driver attempted to save a scooter that suddenly came in its way. The truck overturned, crushing the scooter and a jeep, he added. 

According to the official, six occupants of the jeep and the two-wheeler rider died on the spot. Those in the jeep were relatives and members of a wedding party, he explained.
