Bengaluru: Security Breach At Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's Event — Watch

During an event in Bengaluru, an individual attempted to approach Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on stage.

In a potential security breach, an unidentified person attempted to approach Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the stage during a Democracy Day event in Bengaluru on Sunday (September 15). In the dramatic visuals from the event, the individual can be seen rushing towards Siddaramaiah with a yellow cloth in hand, before police personnel present on the stage swiftly whisk him off.

In the video, police personnel can be seen stopping the person just inches from Siddaramaiah, bringing the situation under control.

Despite the incident, the event continued without any further disturbance. The man has, meanwhile, been detained by police for breaching security protocols.

As per media reports, the person was identified as Mahadev Nayak, who wanted to present a 'shawl' to the chief minister.

“A person named Mahadev Nayak has been taken into custody after he tried to garland a shawl to CM Siddaramaiah. He had a legitimate past and proper identity. But since he tried to garland CM. This was a breach. He has been detained as per procedures," News18 reported quoting a police official as saying.

Earlier, on International Democracy Day, Siddaramaiah said, "In Karnataka, our government is dedicated to building a state where democracy thrives, communities live in harmony, and secularism is upheld. But the threat to these values persists. Together, we must remain vigilant, stand united, and continue to nurture Karnataka as a peaceful garden of all communities."

Speaking at a rally on Saturday the Karnataka CM also alleged that there were some who were working to stop the guarantees of the state government.
