20 Pahalgam Victims Forced To Remove Pants Before Death: Report

The attackers had subjected the male victims to a barbaric faith-determination test by having their lower garments undone.

As many as 20 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack were found to have their pants down or unzipped, reported The Times of India quoting officials that carried out the first examination of the 26 lifeless bodies.

A team of officers from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir administration found that clothing for the lower body of 20 of the 26 victims had been forcibly dislodged, with their pants zippers undone, and pants pulled down, exposing their underwear of private parts.

The report stated that the victims' kin were possibly too much in shock to have noticed the state of clothing of their slain family member. The staff also retrieved the bodies as they were, simply covering them with a shroud.

Three 'Tests' To Establish Identity

The harrowing detail came to the fore only when the team of officers tasked with a thorough examination of the bodies examined the bullet-riddled bodies -- possibly to record finer details to be included in the FIR -- and noticed how the terrorists had subjected the male victims to barbaric faith-determination test by having their lower garments undone.

The eyewitnesses have earlier confirmed that the terrorists had checked for the faith of each of the victims by asking for their identity proof like an Aadhaar card or driving licence etc and ordering them to recite an Islamic verse.

As per the report, the attackers also removed the lower clothing of the victims so that they could check for circumcision.

Once their Hindu identities were established through these three "tests", the terrorists shot at the victims from close range, as per the report.

Twenty-five of the total 26 victims that were killed in the dastard attack were Hindus, and all of them were males.
