Haryana Assembly Elections Results 2024: Congress' Bhupinder Singh Hooda Leading From Garhi Sampla-Kiloi
The Assembly segment registered a 61% turnout during the October 5 voting in Haryana.
Congress veteran Bhupinder Singh Hooda is leading from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi Assembly constituency in Haryana's Rohtak district. The former chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda is taking on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manju Hooda.
Hooda, who was the chief minister between 2005 and 2014, was campaigning aggressively during the 2024 Assembly elections, as the Congress aimed for a major comeback after two back-to-back defeats in 2014 and 2019.
The Assembly segment registered a 61% turnout during the October 5 voting in Haryana, while the state saw a total voter turnout of 65.65% votes as of 11:45 pm, data released by the Election Commission shows. Garhi Sampla-Kiloi is a part of the Rohtak district, where 65.53% of voting was registered.
Manju Hooda is the daughter of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Yadav and is married to Rajesh Hooda.
Bhupinder Hooda has emerged as the top choice for Haryana Chief Minister with 30.8 per cent, followed by Chief Minister and BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini at 22.1 per cent, according to the CVoter exit poll.
