EC Asks Akhilesh Yadav To Submit Proof By Nov 10 On Allegations Of Deleting Yadav, Muslim Voters' Names

Akhilesh Yadav has been asked to submit Assembly-wise data of deletions of such magnitude by the election body.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday issued a notice to Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav seeking proof of the allegation made by him that ECI deliberately deleted names of voters from Yadav and Muslim communities to the tune of 20,000 in almost all UP Assembly constituencies, at BJP's behest, as reported by news agency ANI.

Yadav has been asked to submit Assembly-wise data of deletions of such magnitude by the election body.

Earlier, SP chief claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the help of the EC “snatched” away the power in Uttar Pradesh from Samajwadi Party because they are aware that without UP, they cannot remain in power at the Centre.

“The Election Commission deliberately reduced the votes of Yadavs & Muslims by 20,000 in almost every Vidhan sabha seat on diktats of BJP & its aides. A probe can be conducted, it will be found that the names of many people were removed…,” SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said.

“This government is not made by people, even people don’t believe how they again formed the government. They and their machinery snatched away the government from the Samajwadi party because they knew if they lose power in UP they’ll lose power in Delhi,” Akhilesh said.
