Day After Walking Out Of Jail, Delhi CM Kejriwal Visits Hanuman Temple: WATCH

Arvind Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place to express gratitude for after getting bail in the Delhi excise policy case.

A day after walking out of jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday sought the blessings of Lord Hanuman. He visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place to pay obeisance and offer thanks to the lord. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal, former deputy Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

After stepping out of jail, Kejriwal had said that God has stood with him through all difficulties since he has always been truthful.

Kejriwal walked out of the Tihar Jail on Friday after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in the excise policy-linked corruption case. In his first remarks after being released on bail, the Delhi CM on Friday said he will continue to fight "anti-national forces working to weaken the nation". He also asserted that incarceration has only strengthened his resolve.

The AAP leader received a resounding welcome from party leaders and supporters as he walked out of the jail yesterday evening. His supporters gathered outside the Tihar jail amid heavy rains for his welcome. Slogans like 'Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal chhoot gaye,' 'Bhrashtachar ka ek hi kaal, Kejriwal, Kejriwal' rented the air.

Kejriwal's bail is seen as a big boost to the Aam Aadmi Party, which is seeking to make forays in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir in the coming elections and also gearing up to fight to retain power in Delhi where polls are due early next year. The 56-year-old, who has been the fulcrum of the AAP's election campaigns, will have a crucial role to play if the party were to succeed in mounting any significant challenge to the BJP and the Congress in Haryana which votes on October 5.
