AAP Will Contest All Seats In Bihar Elections With Full Strength: MP Sanjay Singh

AAP announces it will contest all Bihar Assembly seats independently, ruling out an alliance with Congress. Saurabh Bhardwaj cites past breach of trust as key reason for going solo.

In a bold political move, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared its intention to contest all seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections independently—signaling a decisive break from any potential alliance with the Congress or other parties.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, AAP’s Delhi unit chief and a prominent voice in the party, confirmed the decision while speaking to ANI. “The party has decided it will contest elections on all seats in Bihar,” he stated, firmly shutting down speculation about any coalition strategies.

When asked about the possibility of partnering with Congress, Bhardwaj pointed to a breach of political understanding during a recent by-election in Gujarat. “There was a prior understanding—Congress would retain its four seats, and we would contest the one we held. We stayed away from their seats, but Congress fielded a candidate against us on ours,” he explained. “That act was not in the spirit of alliance.”

With that backdrop, Bhardwaj left no room for doubt: “We are contesting the Bihar elections independently.”

Echoing the party’s intent, AAP MP Sanjay Singh reiterated that the party would enter the Bihar electoral battlefield with “full strength.”

This development adds another layer of complexity to the political chessboard in Bihar, where major players are already jockeying for position ahead of a high-stakes contest.

On the other side of the aisle, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears poised to consolidate its presence. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed confidence in the coalition’s strength and appeal. “NDA is the wish of the people of Bihar and a symbol of development,” Sinha remarked. “The upcoming election is a chance to remove those who brought ruin to the state.”

Adding further momentum to the NDA's campaign, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan recently declared his full support for the alliance. At a rally in Arrah, Paswan confirmed that his party would back the NDA across all 243 assembly seats.
