During the Laureus World Sports Awards, 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz was awestruck when he met star footballer Lionel Messi. Carlos, who has taken the tennis world by surprise, shared the carpet with Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain at the award function.
“It’s crazy, I’ve never met him before. It’s crazy to see him here…like a meter stroke from me is crazy,” Alcaraz told a reporter.

ATP Tour’s official Twitter handle posted a video where the 35-year-old star was spotted approaching Carlos and both had a short chat.

Earlier, as per the AFP reports, Lionel Messi is set to move to Saudi Arabia. The Argentine will likely to shake hands with club Al Hilal, which is the rival of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr. Recently, Ronaldo also joined hands with Saudi's Al-Nassr in Riyadh after a dispute with his former club Manchester United.
Previously, Messi lifted the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy and is expected to part ways with his current club, Paris St. Germain (PSG) as his contract is ending by the end of this summer. He also got suspended by the club after Messi went to Saudi Arabia on an 'unauthorized trip’.
A journalist named Fabrizio Romano posted a video on his Twitter handle where Messi was spotted saying, “I thought we were going to have a day off after the game as always. I had this trip organized and I couldn’t cancel it. I had already canceled it before. I apologize to my teammates and I’m waiting for what the club wants to do with me.”
Meanwhile, tennis sensation, Carlos Alcaraz won the 2022 U.S. Open and reached the No. 1 ranking. He celebrated his 20th birthday last week and also won Madrid Open final on Sunday.
