VIDEO: Bangladeshi cricketer Sabbir Rahman's 'raunchy' TV ad banned

Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board has pulled down a raunchy advertisement featuring cricketer Sabbir Rahman after it caused outrage on social media. The commercial starts with his fans going berserk as the batsman goes missing. A lookalike of Navjot Singh Sidu says ‘Bangladesh without Sabbir is like a tiger without a claw” to which the West Indies cricketers erupt in joy. He is discovered by a female model who is dressed as a cop which gives a shock to his mother. The ad then shows Rahman drinking a non-alcoholic malt beverage called Oscar in a secret room built in his house. The model handcuffs the 24-year-old batsman and seductively sits next to him following which he says drinking Oscar means "a little privacy is indeed needed". "Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has circulated a directive to stop broadcasting of the ad," a Bangladesh cricket board official said on condition of anonymity to newsagency AFP. "It does not fit with the image of Bangladesh cricket," he reportedly said. The model in the video is 34-year-old Naila Nayem who recently faced severe criticism in the conservative country for a promotional video on breast cancer awareness.
