The Indo-Serbian pair were sent packing from the grand slam after losing 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 against 8th seeds Nikola Mektic and Wesley Koolhof in the men's doubles second round clash played on Wednesday.

India's second-ranked men's doubles player Divij Sharan and his Serbian partner Nikola Cacic crashed out in the second round of the men's doubles section of the 2020 US Open played at the USTA National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows on Wednesday. The Indo-Serbian pair were sent packing from the grand slam after losing 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 against 8th seeds Nikola Mektic and Wesley Koolhof in the men's doubles second round clash played on Wednesday. Ranked 58th on the ATP Men's Doubles rankings Divij Sharan, and Nikola Cacic did not get off to the best possible starts losing the opening set 4-6 but got back into the contest by clinching the second set and forcing a third and final decider to the match. However, inconsistent serving proved to be the nemesis of the Indo-Serb duo in the final set and they made a tame surrender to Mektic and Koolhof in the final set. Earlier, Divij Sharan played his first competitive tournament after a Covid-19 induced break by partnering with Robin Haase at the Prague Challenger ahead of the UP Open.
