Bayern Munich Beat Paris Saint-Germain To Win Sixth UEFA Champions League Title After Coman Scores Lone Goal In Finals

French international and former PSG youth academy graduate Kingsely Coman found the back of the net in the 59th minute of the title clash played behind empty doors to help Bayern Munich win the 2020 Champions League final and lay their hands on the prestigious trophy for the sixth time.

Bayern Munich clinched the prestigious UEFA Champions League title for the sixth time after the German football powerhouse beat French club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) 1-0 in the grand finale of the 2020 edition of the marquee club tournament played at the spectator less Estadio da Luz stadium in Lisbon,Portugal on Sunday. French international and former PSG youth academy graduate Kingsely Coman found the back of the net in the 59th minute of the title clash played behind empty doors to help Bayern Munich win the 2020 Champions League final and lay their hands on the prestigious trophy for the sixth time. While Bayern Munich equaled England club Liverpool FC's feat of six titles in the UEFA Champions League, it was heart breaking loss for the French team PSG who had made it to the title clash for the very first time. In a hard fought finals which saw many goal scoring opportunities going a miss, both Bayern and PSG had their chances to score goals but some brilliant goal keeping from Bayern's German goalie Manuel Neuer and PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas stopped either sides from doing so. Bayern had a brilliant opportunity to open the scoring and take the lead midway through the first half when their star Polish striker Robert Lewandowski had full control of an Alphonso Davies cross, turned swiftly to only find his shot against the post. The in-form Pole again came close to scoring but was denied yet again as the PSG goalkeeper Navas saved a powerful header by the Pole. PSG striker Neymar Jr. was denied a goal courtesy an excellent Neuer save after being set up by his strike pair Mbappe. Meanwhile, Mbappe squandered a brilliant opportunity himself after firing straight at the Bayern goalkeeper after David Alaba passed him the ball in the Bayern box. Bayern also created a history of sorts as they won Europe's flagship club tournament by winning every game in the Champions League this season. The victory also completed a treble of trophies for Hansi Flick's side after they also won the Bundesliga and the German Cup. PSG’s Qatari owners spent a whopping 402 million euros ($474m) on Brazilain striker Neymar and French forward Mbappe in 2017 to win the UEFA Champions League competition, but they finished one step short by ending up as the losing finalist.
