New Delhi: Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi often manages to hog limelight with his controversial statements. Afridi recently made a big allegation against the International Council of Cricket (ICC), saying that the apex cricket board is favoring team India in the T20 World Cup, doing everything they can to ensure the Men in Blue makes it to the semi-finals.

Shahid Afridi made this big allegation while commenting on the recently concluded T20 World Cup match between India and Bangladesh. Such remarks from a veteran like Afridi are quite surprising as ICC had made very similar efforts for Pakistan-South Africa and Zimbabwe-South Africa matches where the play continued amid drizzle on the playing field.

"You saw the ground how wet it was. But ICC is inclined towards India. They want to ensure India reaches the semi-finals at any cost. The umpires were also the same who officiated India vs Pakistan & will get the best umpire awards," said Afridi to SAMAA TV.

Team India has performed remarkably well in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, while the performance of their arch-rivals Pakistan has been very poor as their chances of reaching the semi-finals are now negligible. Team India, on the other hand, has almost reached the semi-finals. Pakistan was defeated by India in their first match in T20 World Cup 2022. After this, they suffered a shock defeat against Zimbabwe.

Pakistan defeated Netherlands and then South Africa after losing their first two matches, but despite this, they have only 4 points in the points table. At the same time, India is on top spot in points table with 6 points and South Africa is second with 5 points. If India and South Africa win their last match, they will reach the semi-finals and Pakistan will be officially knocked out of the T20 World Cup.
