Neeraj Chopra Comes Out In Support Of Vinesh Phogat, Says She 'Brought Glory' To India

India's number one female wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who has been embroiled in controversy after the Tokyo Olympics, has garnered Neeraj Chopra's support. Neeraj Chopra tweeted in support of Vinesh Phogat. Sharing his picture with Vinesh Phogat, Neeraj Chopra has said that he will continue to support Vinesh. 

Vinesh Phogat was one of the biggest medal contenders for India at the Tokyo Olympics. But Vinesh lost in the quarterfinal match. After the Tokyo Olympics, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) accused Vinesh Phogat of breaking discipline and barred her from participating in any tournament.

But Neeraj Chopra, who won his first gold in athletics for India, has made it clear that he will support Vinesh Phogat. Neeraj Chopra said, "Every player lands on the field with the aim of raising the tricolor for their country. Vinesh Phogat is one of India's best athletes who has brought glory to the country on many occasions. We are all proud of you and will continue to support you in the next phase of your career."

Let us tell you that Vinesh Phogat recently wrote an article expressing her pain. Vinesh Phogat said in her blog that she was mentally disturbed by the struggle with Covid-19. She also apologized in response to a notice received from the Wrestling Federation of India.

Vinesh Phogat, however, does not seem to be relieved despite apologizing. According to reports quoting sources in the Wrestling Federation of India, Vinesh Phogat's suspension is unlikely to be withdrawn.
