WPL Auction 2023: Check Full List Of Players Bought By Delhi Capitals

Biju George, who has also coached the Delhi Capitals men's fielding team and the Indian women's cricket team, has been appointed fielding coach.

New Delhi: JSW GMR Cricket Private Limited, a partnership between GMR Group and JSW Sports, will own the Women's Premier League franchise in Delhi. In the auction, the company paid Rs 810 crore, or approximately USD 99.35 million, to acquire the rights.

Hemlata Kala, a former India international, and Lisa Keightley, a former Australia cricketer, will collaborate as assistant coaches. Former Surrey, Gloucestershire, and Northamptonshire wicketkeeper Jonathan Batty will serve as their head coach.

In the meantime, Biju George, who has also coached the Delhi Capitals men's fielding team and the Indian women's cricket team, has been appointed fielding coach.

Here is the full list of the players bought by the franchise in the 2023 WPL Auctions: Jemimah Rodrigues (INR 2.2 crore), Meg Lanning (INR 1.1 crore), Shafali Verma (INR 2 crore), Radha Yadav (INR 40 lakh), Shikha Pandey (INR 60 lakh), Marizanne Kapp (INR 1.5 crore), Titas Sadhu (INR 25 lakh), Alice Capsey (INR 75 lakh), Tara Norris (INR 10 lakh), Laura Hrris (INR 45 lakh), Jasia Akhter (INR 20 lakh), Minnu Mani (INR 30 lakh), Taniya Bhatiya (INR 30 lakh), Poonam Yadav ( INR 30 lakh), Jess Jonassen (INR 50 lakh), Sneha Dipti (INR 30 lakh), Arundhati Reddy (INR 30 lakh), Aparna Mandal (INR 10 lakh)

The Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise owners all purchased WPL teams; the Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz are the other two teams.

Mumbai will host the much-anticipated Women's Premier League (WPL) inaugural season from March 4 to March 26.

All of the games will be played at the Brabourne Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium. The Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians-owned franchise are expected to play in the tournament's opening game.

The inaugural season will consist of 22 games, with the league stage's highest-ranked team automatically qualifying for the final. The teams in second and third place will compete for a spot in the title game.
