Virat Kohli IPL Record: Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star, achieved a massive milestone during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (May 22). In a do-or-die game, RCB were asked to bat first by RR. Coming out to open the batting, Kohli scored 33 off 24 and got out to Yuzvendra Chahal.

During the course of his innings, the right-handed batter became the first batter to complete 8,000 runs in the competition. Notably, Kohli has played each and every season of the IPL for RCB and remains the only player to play for a single team in all the seventeen seasons of the competition so far.

Even though Kohli got a start in the Eliminator against RR, the team would have wanted him to continue and bat deeper into this innings as he had been doing the bulk of the scoring for the team. With him falling, the onus would be on the rest of the batting unit to finish with a score that can be defended on what appears to a high-scoring track.
