'Just Be Another Person On The Road': Virat Kohli Breaks Silence On Two-Month Break After RCB vs PBKS Clash
Virat Kohli returned to the cricket field in IPL 2024 for RCB after opting for a two-month break, making himself unavailable for selection for India's five-match home Test series against England.
Virat Kohli hit top form once again as his 77 off 49 balls guided the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a 4-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday (March 25). The right-handed batter who has been opening for RCB this season looked in complete control throughout his innings after he was dropped on 0 by Jonny Bairstow in the slip. His innings was studded with 11 fours and 2 sixes.
With RCB getting off the mark on the points table, it was Kohli who was adjudged the Player Of The Match. At the post-match presentation, Kohli talked about his time away from the field for the first time.

"Just to feel normal for two months – for me, my family – it was a surreal experience. Couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognised," Kohli told while interacting with Harsha Bhogle at the post-match presentation ceremony.
'I Have Still Got It I Guess': Virat Kohli After Match-Winning Knock In RCB vs PBKS
While there have been several talks that Kohli might not merit a place in India's T20I squad but is still important in order to promote the game, Kohli said that he feels that he has got it in him after playing that kind of an innings.
"I know my name is often used to just promote the T20 game across the world these days but still got it I guess," he said.
While Kohli had not been in the T20 scheme of things since the team's defeat to England in the T20 World Cup semifinal in 2022, he was picked for the Afghanistan series. He then opted out of the first match of the series due to personal reasons and only played two T20Is. If he gets picked, which does not seem a certainty as a media report, his next T20I will be in the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
