Virat Kohli Fined: The RCB star has been imposed a heavy fine for a code of conduct breach during the team's match against KKR at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (April 21).

Virat Kohli Fined: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli has been imposed a fine for a code of conduct breach in the Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kohli will have to let go of 50 per cent of his match fees for the offence in the fixture.

"Kohli committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee's sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," an official statement from the IPL read.

Notably, Kohli had not shied away from expressing his displeasure over the umpire's decision after he was deemed out on a high full-toss off Harshit Rana against KKR. While both Kohli and his non-striking partner Faf du Plessis reckoned that it should have been not out, the third umpire and the new hawk eye technology called it a fair delivery. The right-handed batter had an animated chat wih the umpire, arguing against the decision that was made, leading to a fine imposed on the cricketer.
