Background
IPL 2020: Royal Challenger's Bangalore won their first match in the IPL tournament 2020 by 10 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was a clinical performance by Virat's boys. THE RCB captain scaled a major milestone in the matchup against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virat-led RCB registered a win over SRH in their tournament opener, and it was Kohli's 50 win as skipper. Kohli beacme only the third skipper in IPL history to have achieved the 50-win milestone.
The man of the match Yuzvendra Chahal was the star of the match and brought RCB back in the game. Though, after David Warner's early wicket, Sunrisers Hyderabad looked weak and but Jonny Bairstow did not worry about the fall-off wickets and went on smashing boundaries to take SRH till a decent score. Bairstow was in luck and was saved 3 times after which Chahal's spell did not spare him. Navin Saini also put up a great performance in the last overs and Viart's decision to give him the death overs was justified.
Chahal (3/18) removed the Englishman and Vijay Shankar in successive balls in the 16th over to tilt the game decisively in his team's favour. Bairstow perished in his attempt to hoick Chahal out of the park while Shankar had no clue about the perfectly placed googly.
That double blow led to a batting collapse, exposing Sunrisers' inexperienced middle-order. Mitchell Marsh suffering an ankle injury while bowling meant he came at number 10 and could only last a ball. Pacer Navdeep Saini (2/25) and Shivam Dube (2/15) also returned tidy figures but Umesh Yadav was expensive for RCB yet again, leaking 48 runs in four overs.
Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore gave an explosive start in their first match of IPL 2020. Padikkal's back to back boundaries and a quick half-ton gave a good build-up to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. SRH came back in the game after dismissing the openers Padikkal and Finch. It was a massive blow for RCB when captain Kohli left at 14. though AB De Villiers superman skills and half-century took RCB to 164/4.
AB De Villiers played a brilliant inning cracking 51 runs with just 29 balls and received the Unacademy crack it award.
Speaking Overall, Royal Challengers Bangalore looked stronger on paper and on-field while Sunrisers Hyderabad had a difficult road. With 2 important players, March and Rashid Khan injured during the match lead SRH to a weak position.
