In reply, Virat Kohli (100) and Faf du Plessis (71) played a brilliant innings and helped their side seal the game with four balls to spare.
Royal Challengers Bangalore outplayed Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday in the IPL 2023 match. It was Virat Kohli who wreaked havoc with the bat and helped his team win the game by 8 wickets. Kohli scored 100 runs off 63 balls with 12 boundaries and four maximums during the run chase.
Post his terrific batting, the former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar praised the RCB stalwart. "What a fabulous inning for Virat, the moment he scored a boundary in the first over itself, you knew something special was brewing up and he just continued. Some of the shots he played, he silenced a lot of critics who say that he can't play big shots," said head coach Sanjay Bangar.
Talking about the clash, Klassen played a knock of 51-ball 104-run with the help of six sixes and eight fours and powered SRH to 186 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Virat Kohli (100) and Faf du Plessis (71) played a brilliant innings and helped their side seal the game with four balls to spare.
"Quite special considering the magnitude of the game. Thought SRH got a very good score. Ball was gripping as well. Faf's been on a different level. I've had a quiet couple of games. The way I was hitting in the nets wasn't transitioning into the middle”, Virat said.
"Very similar to how AB and me batting together. There's a good sense of where we (he and du Plessis) are and how to take the game forward. It's been a beautiful transition for us coming together for RCB at the top and making an impact."
In order to qualify in the playoffs, RCB have to win their next clash to stay alive in the race as Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are at 15 points with one match to go. RCB is tied with MI on 14 points but is one position ahead of them in the points table due to a better net run rate.
