IPL 2020: Steve Smith And I Share A Special Bond, Says Rajasthan Royals Star Player Sanju Samson
KKR vs RR, IPL 2020: The 12th match of IPL 2020 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 7:30 pm tonight.
Rajasthan Royals star batsman Sanju Samson has been creaming the ball all across the ground for scoring runs for fun in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The in-form right-handed batsman has been in terrific form with the bat for his franchise and also remains 'the player' to watch out for in IPL 2020.
Samson, who comes in to bat at the crucial number three spot for RR, has scored two fifty-plus scores, a total of 159 runs at a remarkable strike-rate of almost 215. Samson's 74 and 85, respectively, in last two games for RR helped them win those matches. He has been the Man of the Match in both the Rajasthan Royals games so far.
In an interview, the young talented wicket-keeper batsman revealed that it is due to the senior players like Steve Smith and Jos Buttler that he gets to play with full freedom.
“It [the presence of senior players] gives you a bit more freedom to go against the bowlers. Our batting has a really good depth, Steve Smith is there, David Miller was there and that gives you an extra freedom to go outside there and express yourself. I don't have to think about me getting out,” said Sanju Samson in a BBC podcast.
Samson also revealed that he shares a ‘special bond’ with skipper Steve Smith.
“We communicate really well. I have been batting with Steve Smith for the last 5 years, whenever he played for Rajasthan Royals, we do have a special bond between us,” Sanju said.
The 12th match of IPL 2020 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 7:30 pm today. KKR had to face defeat in their last match while RR won their previous match in a blistering manner.
