Ex-India Player Offers To Mediate, Help Broker Peace Between Virat Kohli & Gautam Gambhir
Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has offered to meditate to broke peace between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, urging both to end the tension.
Two legends of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in a heated argument after Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday (May 1) at Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Gambhir and Kohli both come from Delhi and shared the Indian dressing room for many years. They are also part of the Indian team that won 2011 World Cup under MS Dhoni's captaincy. The duo share similar personalities and have a tense history. Back in 2013 edition of IPL, when Gautam Gambhir captained Kolkata Knight Riders, he and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli had a similar on-field altercation at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has offered to meditate to broke peace between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, urging both to end the tension.
"I think the penny will drop in a day or two. And they will realise that this could have been handled lot better. Both play for the same state and they have played enough cricket. Gautam is a double World Cup winner, Virat is an icon. Both come from Delhi. I think the best thing would be to sit them both down and put an end to it. Once and for all," Ravi Shastri told Star Sports.
"Whoever does it, the sooner the better, because you don't want this to spill off. Carrying on, the next time they meet again there are words exchanged and one thing leads to another. The sooner the better. If I have to do it (mediate between the two stars), so be it," the cricketer-turned-commentator added.
Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bangalore attained their fifth win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs. Earlier, LSG had defeated RCB by one wicket in their previous fixture at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
