Punjab Kings IPL 2025 Retention List: Only Two Uncapped Players Retained By PBKS. Check List

Punjab Kings IPL 2025 Retention List: PBKS are going with a near clean-slate and only two uncapped retentions suggest they will have a big purse at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

Punjab Kings IPL 2025 Retention List: Punjab Kings have announced their player retention list on the IPL Retention 2025 Deadline day ahead of the mega auction. With Shikhar Dhawan, their designated captain last season, having already announced his retirement from all forms of the game, PBKS have only retained two capped players in Shashank Singh  (Rs 5.5 crore) and Prabhsimran Singh (Rs 4 crore).

PBKS choosing to retain only two players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction will allow then to enter the bidding war with a bigger purse. The franchise happens to be one of the few who have participated in every season of the tournament since its inception in 2008 but has never managed to lift the title.

PBKS Failed To Qualify For Playoffs Last Season

Talking about the team's journey in IPL last season, the franchise failed to secure a place in the IPL Playoffs last year. After losing Dhawan to an injury early on in the season, it was Sam Curran who led the team. However, he could not inspire his side to a place in the final four.

The team eventually finished second-last in IPL 2024. They were placed 9th on the points tally with 10 points from 14 matches. PBKS' best season came in IPL 2014 when they reached the final and even posted 199 batting first in a pressure game. However, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) chased down the total with three balls to spare.

The team will have 110.5 crore in their purse for their auction and a maximum of four Right To Match (RTM) options.
