'Move To The Capital City': Former England Player Comes Up With Suggestion For Virat Kohli
The Bangalore-based franchise had to seal a victory in the final league game to fill the last available playoff spot but Gill’s century outclassed Kohli’s second successive ton.
On Sunday, Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore and as a result, they got eliminated from the IPL 2023. Even Virat Kohli’s hundred could not help RCB and they lost the game by 6 wickets. The Bangalore-based franchise had to seal a victory in the final league game to fill the last available playoff spot but Gill’s century outclassed Kohli’s second successive ton and Gujarat won the game.
Post RCB’s elimination from the IPL 2023, former England player Kevin Pietersen came up with a suggestion for Virat Kohli. He said that Virat should play for Delhi Capitals for the next season of IPL.

“Time for VIRAT to make the move to the capital city!,” Pietersen tweeted.
Gujarat ended the league stage by topping the points table with 20 points and will be playing against second-placed Chennai Super Kings in the first playoff on Tuesday.
“The calmness which the boys had was terrific. We wanted to keep the momentum going. We have ticked a lot of boxes. (On Gill) He knows when he plays those cricketing shots and bats like a batter, it's a different Shubman Gill. Today, the kind of options he picked and the kind of places where he was hitting, as a bowler he doesn't give any chance. That makes him very special and the other batter gets confidence from him as well”.
“We would have taken 197 at the start, but we didn't bowl well. Special innings from Virat, he batted well but we went too early for death bowling. I can't ask anything better from the boys. Last year, we did well, everything went our way. This year was a different challenge for us. We were expecting people to challenge us. The boys showed tremendous character. A lot of credit goes to all the boys the way they worked hard throughout”, Hardik Pandya said after the game.
On the other hand, Mumbai will lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants in the second playoff on Wednesday.
