James Anderson is the all-time leading wicket-taker in Tests (in the pacers' category) and recently retired from international cricket, with his last appearance coming against West Indies in the 1st Test match played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London back in July 2024.

As reported by NDTV Sports, the 42-year old has registered himself at a base price of INR 1.25 crore, and will be amongst the list of 400+ overseas players aiming to play in the richest franchise league of cricket around the world.

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will take place in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Amongst the 1574 registered players, 320 are capped players and 1224 are uncapped players. Alongside this, 30 players from Associate Nations are also aiming to play in the esteemed league.

When Did James Anderson Last Play White-Ball Cricket?

James Anderson has dedicated his entire career to red-ball cricket, and has not looked back ever since. He is the third cricketer ever to record 700+ Test wickets (704), only behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708).

The last time James Anderson held a white ball in his hands was way back in 2019, when the right-arm fast pacer appeared for Lancashire in the Royal London ODI Cup.

Coming to the international circuit, James Anderson's last ODI appearance came during the ICC ODI World Cup 2015 against Afghanistan, and last T20I appearance came against South Africa…. WAY BACK IN 2009!

It’s been 15 years since James Anderson last played T20I, and this stat will definitely keep all the franchises dicey in whether to buy the England legend or not.
