IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya Takes Charge As MI Captain, Sets Up Mandir In Dressing Room First Up- WATCH

Hardik Pandya joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of IPL 2024 and set up a mandir in the dressing room in one of his first moves as the skipper.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be playing under a new captain this season. While Rohit Sharma, the man who led them to each of their five titles so far will also be with the team, this time around it will be Hardik Pandya who will be turning up for the toss of the coin and making all the decisions that matter. Ahead of IPL 2024, the former Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper joined MI to take charge as the captain.

In one of his first moves as captain, Hardik set up a mandir inside the dressing room. The video of the Baroda all-rounder setting up the temple was shared by his franchise on its official social media handle. The video instantly became viral on the internet.

Shubman Gill To Lead Gujarat Titans In IPL 2024

With Hardik reuniting with his former franchise, it will be Shubman Gill who will be leading Gujarat Titans (GT) this year. This will be the first time Gill will be at the helm of affairs of an IPL side in his career. With the IPL also set to be an audition of sorts and a final chance for players to prove themselevs ahead of the T20 World Cup, Gill would be determined to make a statement with the bat especially with Yashasvi Jaiswal more or less having put one foot in the team with his exemplary performances and forming a formidable opening partnership with Rohit Sharma.

It will also be interesting to see the dynamic between Rohit and Hardik at Mumbai Indians. While Rohit is set to lead India in T20 World Cup 2024 with Hardik as his deputy, in the MI camp, it will be Hardik who will be the boss. No official statement from Rohit has come yet on Hardik replacing him as the captain.
