IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants Name Arpit Guleria As Replacement For Injured Mayank Yadav

Arpit made his maiden appearance in domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh and currently plies his trade for Sevices.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants have named Arpit Guleria as a replacement for Mayank Yadav for the remainder of IPL 2023. Notably, Arpit made his maiden appearance in domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh and currently plies his trade for Sevices. So far, he has experience of playing in 15 First-class matches and 12 List A games in which he has taken 44 and 11 wickets respectively. An official release has confirmed that the pacer has joined the franchise for Rupees 20 Lakh.

The KL Rahul-led team will be up against Punjab Kings in their next IPL 2023 encounter later on Saturday. The team currently finds itself second on the points table with six points from four matches which they have accumulated with the help of three wins. They have faced a defeat in just a solitary game. Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals currently lead the points tally despite having the same number of points as Lucknow owing to a better net run rate.

A lot of eyeballs will be on skipper Rahul who hasn't been in the best of form this season and has only managed to accumulate 81 runs in 4 innings so far at an average of 20.25 and a strike rate of 100.00. While a good innings under his belt would add much more impetus to their team in the top of the order, Quinton de Kock is also set to add more strength to their batting order. However, it would be interesting to see if De Kock replaces Kyle Mayers in the Playing XI especially since Mayers has been in good nick with 193 runs from 4 innings at a strike rate of over 180.
