'Ek Saal Aur Khelunga': Suresh Raina Reveals MS Dhoni Isn't Retiring From IPL

Wherever Chennai Super Kings travel for their IPL matches, be it Kolkata, Hyderabad or Lucknow, fans have left no stone unturned to pay tribute to the legend MS Dhoni.

Four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continue to shine in 2023 season of Indian Premier League (IPL) under MS Dhoni's captaincy. It is believed MS Dhoni is playing his last IPL season as a player. Wherever Chennai Super Kings travel for their IPL matches, be it Kolkata, Hyderabad or Lucknow, fans have left no stone unturned to pay tribute to the legend. Meanwhile, another IPL legend and former CSK player Suresh Raina shared a major update regarding Dhoni's future in the tournament. Raina revealed the special conversation he had with 'Thala' recently, about his retirement plans. "Main trophy jeet ke ek saal aur khelunga (After winning the trophy, I will play one more year)," Suresh Raina told Jio Cinema, as quoted by Hindustan Times. Raina was spotted interacting with MS Dhoni on the field after Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians.

Last week, IPL presenter Danny Morrison, during Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants IPL match in Lucknow, asked Dhoni whether he plans to retire after IPL 2023. Morrison said, "This wonderful swansong tour, your last, how are you enjoying it?". Responding to which, Dhoni replied: "Well, you have decided it’s my last."

The way MS Dhoni handles his players on the field is unmatched. Chennai Super Kings are surely hoping that the legendary wicket-keeper continues to play for them for next few years in IPL.

Chennai Super Kings started their IPL 2023 campaign on a positive note but their sudden dip in form gave their fans a reason to worry. Thankfully, CSK have regained their form, winning 6 out of 11 games, and currently are at number two position in IPL 2023 Points Table. Chennai Super Kings need to win their next few games to finish in top 3 in points standings by the end of league stage, qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs. If CSK makes it to the top 2 after end of league stage matches, they will play a qualifier and eliminator to make it to IPL 2023 final.
