IPL 2021: Sanju Samson In Big Trouble, Likely To Face One Match Ban For Slow Over Rate

Threat of a one-match ban is looming on Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson. Sanju Samson has been found guilty of slow over rate twice.

DC Vs RR: Rajasthan Royals seems to be finding it difficult after their defeat against the Delhi Capitals. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh for slow over rate. At the same time, threat of a one-match ban on Sanju Samson is also looming large. 

Apart from captain Sanju Samson, his fellow players were also fined for slow overs in the match against Delhi Capitals. Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh while the rest of the playing 11 members will have to pay a fine of Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their personal match fee.

A statement issued towards the IPL was issued informing about the strict action taken against Rajasthan Royals. The statement says "This was the team's second violation of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct related with slow overspeed". Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh.''

Ban's sword hanging over Sanju

The IPL Committee has made very strict rules on slow over rate for this season. Before also, Sanju Samson has faced fines due to slow over rate. First time, Sanju Samson was fined Rs 12 lakh for making the mistake. Sanju Samson will have to face a one-match ban if the Rajasthan team is once found guilty of slow over rate.

After this defeat against Delhi Capitals, the playoff path has also become difficult for Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan will have to win four of their remaining five matches in any case to make it to the next round.
