WATCH: Big Show’s Big Reverse Sweeps On Chahal’s Bowling, How Does Maxwell Do That?
A video taken during the RCB’s practice session reveals the reason Maxwell is able to hit unorthodox sweeps for six. Take a look.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be opening the proceedings at IPL 2021 when they play against Mumbai Indians in the first match of the 14th season. The team is looking set to take on the Champions Mumbai Indians. RCB have not won the tournament even once, their best performance came in the year 2009 when they played the final under the captaincy of Anil Kumble. Every year, RCB promises to change their frortunes as their team looks good on paper but fails to deliver bresults due to the lack of quality in some department. For few years, it was the lower-middle order batting department and RCB management has worked on it consciously to improve it in this year’s season. This year, they have a certain Glenn Maxwell in their ranks who could improve their lower order performance.
Meanwhile, a video is doing rounds on Twitter where Glenn Maxwell is seen mingling with the other RCB teammates. He is also seen batting against the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Dan Christian. He hits both these good bowlers for reverse sweeps which looked like they went a long way. RCB’s official Twitter handle posted: “Glenn Maxwell’s Day Out
@Gmaxi_32 came. Maxwell reverse swept. And Maxwell had fun. Watch The Big Show and Kyle Jamieson at their first practice session for #RCB ahead of #IPL2021.”
This video is proof that the unorthodox sixes which are hit by Maxwell are by no means due to a fluke. He practices these shots, just like normal drives and eventually gets better at these. Glenn Maxwell’s inclusion in the RCB side will definitely make RCB’s matches more entertaining.
