IPL 2020 | 'I Am Going To Dubai On September 8': BCCI Boss Sourav Ganguly Exclusively Confirms To ABP News

IPL 2020: UAE witnessing a steady rise in the number of Covid-19 cases has become a reason of worry for all eight teams participating in the tournament and that's why Dada is visiting Dubai to make sure that all SOPs are being followed by the players and support staff of all eight franchises during the 53-day tournament.

Is everything going well before IPL 2020? Are all the players strictly following BCCI guidelines? To see this, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will leave for Dubai on 8 September where he will hold talks with officials of all eight teams on issues ranging from strict adherence to SOPs and other important matters that needs to be looked into. Ganguly exclusively told ABP News,"I am going to Dubai on September 8." There will be talks on a wide range of issues with representatives of different franchises, including asking all the teams to strictly enforce SOPs.

The 13th edition of the IPL was initially scheduled to take place in India but got indefinitely postponed by the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) due to rapid spike in Covid-19 cases. After ICC Men's T20 World Cup postponement, the cash-rich T20 League finally got the green signal from the government to take place outside India in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

However, UAE witnessing a steady rise in the number of Covid-19 cases has become a reason of worry for all eight teams participating in the tournament and that's why Dada is visiting Dubai to once again make sure that all SOPs are being followed by the players and support staff of all eight franchises during the 53-day tournament. IPL 2020 will be played across three venues -- Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

Sourav Ganguly told ABP News sports journalist Kuntal Chakraborty that he is reaching Dubai on 8 September. In Dubai, Dada will hold talks with officials of different franchises.

Significantly, in the last two days, the number of corona infections in the United Arab Emirates has increased rapidly. A total of 1249 new positive cases were recorded on Wednesday and Thursday combined.

Before the IPL 2020 full schedule comes up, BCCI is worried about the sudden spike in Corona cases. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the board president himself is reaching Dubai.

BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly on Thursday exclusively revealed to ABP News that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 schedule will be released on Friday.

“We understand schedules are delayed. It is almost on the verge of getting final and should be released by Friday”, Ganguly told ABP News.
