IPL 13, DC vs KXIP: Gayle Nears 4500-Run Milestone, Dhawan On Cusp Of Breaking Raina's Record

IPL 13, DC vs KXIP Major Milestones: KXIP's belligerent opener Chris Gayle is just 16 runs short of scaling the 4500-run mark in the Indian Premier League. Delhi Capitals top order batsman Shikhar Dhawan needs four more 6s to reach the 100-six milestone in IPL.

Delhi Capitals (DC) will begin their campaign in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by taking on Kings Eleven Punjab (KXIP) in the second game of season which will take place in Dubai International Stadium in Dubai in a few hours from now.

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kings Eleven Punjab (KXIP) who both are yet to win an IPL title will be looking to end the title drought when they compete in the 8-team fold in an grueling T20 battle which will span over 50 matches across 40 days in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

While Delhi seems to have a more stronger and balanced side between the two teams, Kings Eleven Punjab will look to replicate their stellar campaign last time around in the UAE which saw them finishing off as runner-up to Kolkata Knight Riders in 13th edition of the league

Both Delhi and Punjab have a plethora of star studded T20 batting stalwarts in their teams who can change the course of the game in a blink of an eye.

While Delhi Capitals can boast of prolific runs scorers like Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shimron Hetmeyer and Marcus Stoinis in their squad, Punjab have KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Glen Maxwell and Mayank Agarwal as part of their squad.

Here is a look at some major records which can be achieved in the Delhi Capitals vs Kings Eleven Punjab match

KXIP's belligerent opener Chris Gayle is just 16 runs short of scaling the 4500-run mark in the Indian Premier League. If Gayle attains the mark, he will only be the second overseas players after David Warner to achieve the milestone. The free flowing strokemaker has notched up 4,484 runs in 125 IPL games in his career.

KXIP skipper KL Rahul need 23 runs to reach the 2000-run mark in IPL. If he scales the landmark in the IPL match against DC, he will become only the 20th Indian cricketer to achieve the 2000-run mark in IPL.

Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan is on the cusp of equaling Suresh Raina’s major batting milestone in Indian Premier League on Sunday. The left-handed aggressive strokemaker needs one half century  to equal Suresh Raina’s record of 38 IPL fifties – which is the highest by any Indian player. Dhawan is currently on the second spot with 37 50s in 159 IPL matches.

Delhi Capitals top order batsman Shikhar Dhawan needs four more 6s to reach the 100-six milestone in IPL. If 'Gabbar' gets to the herculean feat, he will become the 19th overall cricketer and 11th Indian to hit 100 or more sixes in IPL.
