Dhruv Jurel 'Proud' After Being Run Out By Idol MS Dhoni
Jurel scored 34 off 15 against CSK on Thursday (April 27).
While the Indian Premier League (IPL) is a tournament like none other for several reasons, one of them is that it makes dreams reality. One such dream of Rajasthan Royals star Dhruv Jurel indeed turned into reality when he got to play a match against Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni, not once but twice in IPL 2023.
While earlier Jurel had revealed what Dhoni told him after the first face off between CSK and RR this season, this time around Jurel has made another remark which further shows how much he admires the legendary Chennai and ex-Team India skipper.
In a video uploaded on Rajasthan Royal's official YouTube account, Jurel says that when he will have a look at the scorecard decades later, he will feel proud that he was run out by MS Dhoni. Notably, Jurel was in great nick and was batting on 34 off 15 when he tried to sneak a run to get back on strike on the last over. But Dhoni hit the stumps on a direct throw despite not having the time to put his gloves off and was spot on, catching the youngster short of his ground.
Talking about RR and CSK's journey in IPL 2023 so far, both the teams have 10 points after 8 matches. But as things stand currently, it is the inaugural champions who are on top of the points table owing to a better net run rate (NRR) of +0.939 compared to CSK's +0.376. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans also have the same number of points as RR and CSK and are placed at second and third place respectively with NRR being the differentiator.
Things will begin to take an interesting turn as the competition now heads into its second half with 38 matches completed of the total 74 games scheduled in the T20 competition in this IPL season.
