The Women's Premier League (WPL) is here to stay. The tournament has already produced some superb cricketing encounters in the tournament so far with a great contest on display between the bat and ball. Even the fielding effort has been on point barring a few exceptions in this league.

One such top performance on the field was on display during the top of the table clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. After scoring just 105 runs on the board and Mumbai getting off to a flier, it was unlikely that Delhi were going to make a match out of the this game but still the effort from Jemimah Rodrigues to take the catch makes it all the more special.

It happened in the 12th over of the Mumbai chase and the team had lost Yastika Bhatia not too long ago. The over was being delivered by Alice Capsey and on third ball Hayley Matthews looked to slog one out of the ground but only managed to send it miles in the year. Sensing an opportunity to get a wicket, Rodrigues, ran in from long off and put in the dive to complete the catch.

Aakash Chopra, who was on air in the Hindi commentary, called it an early contender for the catch of the tournament and the video of the effort from the DC start has also been shared by the official handle of tournament.

"PLAY THIS ON LOOP πŸ” @JemiRodrigues  - A catch marvel πŸ™ŒπŸ»," the video was captioned.

Take a look:

As far as the match is concerned, MI ultimately beat DC by 8 wickets to complete a hat-trick of victories. The win implies they are now the only team in the competition to remain unbeaten while Delhi suffered their first loss in three games.
