India's young cricket star Prithvi Shaw shared a cryptic social media post on Thursday which has left his fans confused.
"Some people will only love you, as much as they can use you. Their loyalty ends where the benefits stop," Shaw wrote in his Instagram story.
Despite having a considerably young cricket career so far, Shaw, who represents Mumbai in domestic cricket, has had his fair share of ups and downs, of on-field successes and off-field controversies. The 23-year-old even had to stay away from the game when he was banned in 2019 for eight months.
Meanwhile, there were also accusations which claimed that Shaw had not been able to clear the Yo-Yo Test at the National Cricket Academy while his IPL franchise's head coach Ricky Ponting had disclosed that Shaw had once refused to bat in the nets.
The cricketer, most recently, was in the centre of a controversy involving influencer Sapna Gill. While the cricketer has claimed that it was Gill who had invaded her personal space which led to an altercation, the Bhojpuri actress has levelled serious allegations of molestation.
As far as cricketing action is concerned, Shaw will play a key role in Delhi's IPL 2023 campaign. In the absence of their captain Rishabh Pant who met with an accident in December last year, Shaw has been picked by the team's CEO as someone who can turn out to be their game-changer.
"If you see him, he performs really well every year. He made us win a couple of games last season, but he has been unfortunate. He fell sick and I think that's what actually deterred him, not his form or the way he approaches the game. I still feel that this year he will be a game-changer for us. In the powerplays, the way he plays will have a big impact on the way DC goes in the tournament," Dhiraj Malhotra told Times of India.
With Pant missing out this season, the team has named David Warner as their skipper.
