New Delhi: The 44th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is being played between five-time winners Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Just moments ahead of the start of MI vs RR IPL 2022 match, players of both the teams as well as the match officials observed a minute of silence to pay heartfelt tribute to 'king of spin' Shane Warne at Mumbai's Dr DY Patil Stadium.

Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne, one of the greatest spinners of all time, died last month due to a heart attack at a Thai resort in Koh Samui. He was 52-years-old.

Back in the year 2008, it was under Warne's captaincy that Rajasthan defeated Chennai Super Kings by three wickets in the summit clash to win their first IPL title.

Rajasthan and Mumbai players paid tribute to Shane Warne on the anniversary of the Rajasthan Royals' title win 14 years ago.

Rajasthan Royals players, in another heartwarming gesture, sported special kits with the initials 'SW23' written on them. A Shane Warne Tribute Gallery has also been set up at the DY Patil Stadium, which was accessible to all the fans by purchasing tickets.
