'Ravi Bishnoi Can Be The Next Big Thing In Indian Cricket,' Says Lucknow Skipper KL Rahul

Ravi Bishnoi has bagged 24 wickets off 23 IPL games so far. The young talented spinner had announced himself to the world with his remarkable bowling in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

New Delhi: Team India's star batter KL Rahul, who recently led the national squad against South Africa, will be seen captaining Lucknow Super Giants in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

In the last four seasons of IPL, Rahul had scored a plethora of runs for franchise Punjab Kings. Fans and experts expect him to maintain his form and score runs with the same intensity while playing for new franchise Lucknow as well.

Apart from KL Rahul, Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and uncapped India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi are the other two cricketers who have been selected as draft picks by Lucknow Super Giants.

Since Bishnoi has played under Rahul's captaincy in last two IPL seasons, many believe that the former Punjab Kings skipper had a major role to lay in getting Bishnoi on board.

A look at Ravi Bishnoi's impressive IPL career

21-year-old Ravi Bishnoi has bagged 24 wickets off 23 IPL games so far. The young talented spinner had announced himself to the world with his remarkable bowling in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

“He has a lot of fight in him. That’s something that stood out from the first game of the IPL that he played, coming off an under-19 World Cup. IPL is a big stage and it didn’t seem like the occasion got the better of him,” Rahul was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

“He wanted to be in a fight. He was bowling against Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer and they are really good players of spin, so I threw him the ball and said, “This is gonna be tough.” He said, “No, it doesn’t matter, I’ll get them out.” That’s the kind of attitude he has. For a little guy he has huge heart,” added Lucknow skipper.

“He can be the next big thing in Indian cricket. The responsibility is on us to help him discover his potential so he can get into that national team and become one of the key spinners for Team India,” opined the star batter.
