IPL 2021: Virat Kohli Fined After Royal Challengers Bangalore's First Defeat Of The Season

IPL 2021 news: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 69 runs on Sunday at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium to reach the top of IPL 2021 Points Table with their fourth consecutive win.  

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was fined for slow over-rate during their IPL 2021 match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. This was Bangalore's first offense this season for slow over-rate under the IPL code of conduct and hence Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 69 runs to reach the top of IPL 2021 Points Table with their fourth consecutive win.  

“Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 25,” a media release said.

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Mr Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” it further stated.

Jadeja emerged as the hero for Chennai as he scored an unbeaten 62 off just 28 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes, his highest score in T20 cricket.  Jadeja's blistering innings and 74-run partnership for the first wicket between Faf Du plessis (50 off 41 balls) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (33 off 25 balls) helped CSK score 191/4, batting first. 

After this, Jadeja showed his skill with left-arm spin bowling and took three wickets for 13 runs in his four overs. Leg-spinner Imran Tahir (2 for 16) gave him good support, restricting RCB to 122 runs for nine wickets. This is RCB's first defeat after four consecutive wins.
