Indian Taxi Driver's Heartwarming Gesture To Pakistan Cricketers In Brisbane Wins Hearts

After completing the ride, the Indian taxi driver refused to take the fare from them and the Pakistani players returned the favour by inviting him for dinner with them

Brisbane: Pakistan cricket team five players treated an Indian taxi driver to a dinner after he denied to accept money for a taxi ride he gave them in Brisbane. ABC radio presenter Alison Mitchell, while narrating the heartwarming story revealed that Pak players Shaheen Shah Afridi, Yasir Shah and Naseem Shah were picked from their hotel in Brisbane by a driver, who drove them to an Indian restaurant for dinner. However, after completing the ride, he refused to take the fare from them and the Pakistani players returned the favour by inviting him for dinner with them. Alison Mitchell came to know about the incident through the same cabbie, who drove her to the Gabba stadium in Brisbane for Australia vs Pakistan, 1st Test. Earlier on Sunday, Aussies bagged a big win at the Gabba to keep alive their unbeaten record at the Gabba since 1988. The Australian bowling attack bowled remarkably well to defeat Pakistan by an innings and five runs in the first Test of the two-match Test series to attain a 1-0 lead. Pakistan’s (104)and Mohammad Rizwan (95) showed some resistance and tried hard to keep their squad alive in the game. However, Australia bowled out Pakistan for 335 on day four after taking a 340-run first-innings lead as star paceman Josh Hazlewood ended up getting 4 wickets. Earlier, Marnus Labuschagne (185) and David Warner (154) batted brilliantly to put Australia in a commanding position and put on board a first-innings total of 580 runs in reply to Pakistan's 240. The second Test, a day-night affair, will be played at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
