New Delhi: Pakistan cricket team's former skipper Shahid Afridi confirmed during an interview that her daughter waved Indian during the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. A video went viral on social media which claimed that Shahid Afridi's daughter waved the Indian flag during a match in the multi-nation tournament. During the interview, not only Shahid confirmed that the video was legitimate but also revealed the reason behind it.

"My wife told me that there were barely 10% Pakistani fans in the stadium and the rest were Indian fans. Pakistani flags were not available there so my younger daughter was waving the Indian flag. I received the video, but I was unsure about whether to share it online or not," Afridi has said.

India and Pakistan clashed against each other twice in the Asia Cup 2022. India started its Asia Cup campaign with a win over Pakistan, defeating them by chasing down a 148-run target with five wickets remaining. The second time when the two teams clashed, Pakistan defeated India by chasing down the 182-run target.
This was India's first defeat against Pakistan in an Asia Cup match after eight years. Earlier in the 2014 Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated India by one wicket.
