Virat Kohli's Bewildered Reaction After Being Dismissed On Golden Duck By James Anderson - Watch Video

Ind vs Eng, 1st Test in England: This was the first time since 2014 that James Anderson dismissed Virat Kohli in Test cricket. This was Virat Kohli’s third golden duck against England in Test cricket.

The Indian cricket team scored 125 runs for loss of 4 wickets in their first innings at Stumps of day 2 of the first Test of the five-match Test series between India and England in Nottingham on Thursday. For India, opener KL Rahul (57*) and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant returned unbeaten (7). The umpires were forced to stop the match early due to rain as India are trailing by 58 runs in the first innings. Batting first after winning the toss, England had scored 183 runs in 65.4 overs.

India enjoyed a perfect morning session and were on top in the start of their innings, cruising at 97 runs without losing a wicket. Veteran Rohit Sharma (36) and KL Rahul gave India a good start and added 97 runs for the first wicket, but after Rohit was dismissed, the English bowlers staged a sensational comeback by bagging three quick wickets. In the second session, legend James Anderson struck twice to dismiss Cheteshwar Pujara (4) and Indian captain Virat Kohli (0) cheaply in back-to-back deliveries.

Just when Pujara was departed and Kohli came out to bat, the crowd cheered very loud for the star batsman. The fans were expecting a tough competition between the Indian captain and veteran James Anderson. But to everyone's surprise, Anderson managed to stun Kohli and send him back to the pavilion for a heart-breaking golden duck.

This was the first time since 2014 that Anderson dismissed Virat Kohli in Test cricket. This was Virat Kohli’s third golden duck against England in Test cricket.

After dismissing Virat Kohli for a golden duck, Anderson achieved a big milestone in Test cricket. The veteran has now equaled former India spinner Anil Kumble's record of taking the most wickets in Test cricket. The wicket of Virat Kohli was Anderson's 619th scalp in Test cricket. He has joined the top-3 players list in terms of taking most wickets in Test cricket.
