Australia Skipper Tim Paine Fined By ICC For Breaching Code Of Conduct

India vs Australia: According to a press release issued by the ICC on Sunday, the Australian captain admitted his mistake and these allegations. Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct relates to 'disagreeing with the umpire's decision during the match'.

Amid controversies, the Australian team has strengthened its hold in the Sydney Test. For the entire Australian team, everything is going well on the field at this time, except for captain Tim Paine. The Aussie skipper has been punished by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to a mistake in the field. On the issue of expressing displeasure over an umpire's decision on Day three of India vs Australia Sydney Test, ICC imposed a penalty of 15 percent of  Tim Paine's match fee.
On the third day of the Test match against India, Australian captain Paine expressed his displeasure and reportedly uttered some abusive words over an umpire's DRS decision, which was given in favor of Cheteshwar Pujara. Reacting to Paine's behavior, umpire Paul Rifle, Paul Wilson, third umpire Bruce Oxenford and fourth umpire Claire Polosak, in their complaint, sent match referee David Boon, accused Paine of breaching under Article 2.8 of the ICC's Code of Conduct.

On the complaint of the umpires, match referee David Boon found Tim Paine guilty and fined him 15 percent of his match fee. However, Paine's breach of conduct falls under Level 1 of the Code of Conduct, under which official punishment is given as a minimum punishment and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of the match fee. Also 2 demerit points are also added.
In addition to the match fee penalty on Tim Paine, his record has added 1 demerit point, which is his first demerit point in a period of 24 months. In case of having 4 demerit points, the guilty player gets banned for a Test match.
