India blind Cricket team meets Delhi CM

New Delhi [India], Jan 5 (ANI): The Indian Blind Cricket team on Friday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, before departing to the UAE to participate in the World Cup.

Mahantesh G K, president of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), explained the concept of Blind Cricket and its various dynamics to the chief minister.

He also requested Kejriwal to allot a permanent training and playing ground for the blind players and also a training centre for learning.

The Delhi chief minister assured Mahantesh that the facilities would be given and also wished the players for their world cup and said that he was looking forward to welcome the team with the world cup trophy.

The team will play against Australia on Monday at the Ajman Oval CG, UAE.

Earlier, Pakistan was scheduled to host the event, but the venue was relocated to the UAE after the Indian Government refused to grant permission to the team to travel to Islamabad for the matches in the wake of political tensions between the two countries.

The final of the tournament is scheduled for January 21 in Lahore but if defending champions India reach the final and still do not get permission to travel to the country then the venue of the final would also be shifted to Sharjah, UAE. (ANI)
